Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients.
    • Gather all your ingredients and shot cups before starting.
  2. Boil the Water.
    • Place 1 cup of water into a medium saucepan and bring it to 375 degrees over medium-high heat.
    • After the water boils, immediately stop the heat to prevent it from evaporating too much.

  3. Dissolve the Jello.
    • Heat a bowl and add the Jello powder to it.
    • Using your whisk, add the reserved boiling water and mix it all in the bowl while stirring constantly.
    • Add more stirring and stir until gelatin is completely dissolved, leaving no residue. It takes approximately 2 minutes.

  4. Add alcohol and cold water to the mixture.
    • Add 1/2 cup of cold water and stir when the gelatin is dissolved.
    • Add half a cup of vodka (or your preferred liquor) and rub it together.
    • If you want a stronger kick, the alcohol-to-20% water ratio can be used but remember too much drinking will set the Jello and not foam up properly.

  5. Pour into Cups.
    • Place small plastic or silicone shot cups on a flat surface.'
    • The mixture is poured into each cup with a ladle or measuring cup that has spout, filling them to approximately 3/4 full.
    • For garnishment, there should be room at the top to prevent any spillage.

  6. Chill and Set.
    • Transfer to the refrigerator and leave in the tray for at least 2-4 hours until the Jello shots are cold. Enjoy!
    • Avoid freezing because it has a loose texture.

  7. Serve and Enjoy.
    • Following the establishment, dispose of them from the fridge and serve them chilled.
    • For added flavor and flair, whipped cream, sprinkles, or fruit can be added to each shot.

Note

Fun Variations to Try.
